Aaron ‘Mankie’ Jackson, Jr departed his earthly life on Sunday, July 25, 2021 at Capitol Oaks Nursing & Rehabilitation in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He was the son of the late Aaron Sr. and Rosa Lee T. Jackson. Walk-in viewing only at Miller & Daughter Mortuary on Friday, July 30, 2021 from 9-10:30 am; a private service will be conducted by Pastor Donald Turner; interment at Olive Grove Cemetery. Danette ‘Dee’ Nedenia Goree Brazier was born on July 12, 1960, in Arcadia, Louisiana, and went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 24, 2021, at her residence in Baton Rouge. Dee was baptized at New Prosperity Baptist Church in Clay, Louisiana, and was active in church ministry. The Gorees moved to Baton Rouge in 1969, where she attended Southern University Laboratory School and graduated in 1978. Dee matriculated at Southern University and A&M College for two years. Dee joined Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church in Baton Rouge in 1980 and contributed to the ministries of Music, Sunday School, BYPU, VBS, and Transportation. Dee was united in marriage to E. Charles Brazier on September 6, 1982; she began her work career that same year at Sears and Roebuck. She worked at Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church in the church office as a clerical assistant from 1997, rising to the title of General Church Secretary in 2016. Charles and Dee truly worked together in ministry as a team. Dee also managed the Bowling Center and Food Court in the Mount Pilgrim Family Life Center for several years. Dee was installed as a deaconess at Mount Pilgrim and beautifully executed her spiritual gift of serving. Danette Goree Brazier will forever be remembered and cherished by her loving husband of 38 years, E. Charles Brazier; sister, Jacinta Dawn Goree Brazier (Kenneth); brothers, Bruce Gyrone Hudson (Valerie), Terence Michel Goree (Brigida), Eduardo Nicolette Goree, and Rick L. Candler (Gwen); sisters-in-law, Bernadine Williams and Michelle Wilcox Goree; aunts, goddaughters, godsons, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family and friends. Proceeding Dee to Heaven were her parents, Robert and Mablene Goree; sisters Jacqueline Buford and Shawnee Goree Hunter; brother, Lennis Hudson; brother-in-law, Rev. Robert C. Mecho Collins entered into eternal rest at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center on Sunday, July 18, 2021. He was a 57 year old native and resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Delores W. “Dee” Plummer entered into eternal rest at St. Clare Manor on Saturday, July 17, 2021. She was an 87 year old native of Folsom, Louisiana and a resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana where she was the owner of Dee’s Beauty Salon. Viewing at Greater Mount Carmel Baptist Church on Saturday, July 24, 2021 from 9:00 am until service at 11:00 am conducted by Pastor Clee Lowe; interment at Southern Memorial Gardens. Survivors include her children, Gus Plummer, Jr. (Kimberly), Missouri City, Texas and Germaine Plummer, Baton Rouge; grandchildren, Kasey, Collin and Cameron Plummer, Missouri City; sister, Greta Williams, Covington, Louisiana; an aunt, Ruby Conerly, Covington, Louisiana; four sisters-in-law; and two brothers-in-law; preceded in death by her husband, Gus Plummer, Sr.; granddaughter, Kennedy Plummer; parents; and five siblings. Dezmon Jerome “Dez” Hamilton entered into eternal rest at his residence in Zachary, Louisiana on Sunday, July 18, 2021 at 8:45 am. He was a 34 year old native of Zachary; a Supervisor at Exxon Lubrication-Port Allen; owner of the soon to be “The Sweet Corner”; and was a member of the Rose of Sharon Baptist Church, Alsen Community. Beatrice “Mama B” Coates entered into eternal rest at Hospice of Baton Rouge-Butterfly Wing on Tuesday, July 13, 2021. She was a 93-year-old native of Centreville, MS, and a resident of Baton Rouge, LA. He was a 95 year old native of St. Landry, Louisiana; Pastor Emeritus at Greater Mount Gideon Baptist Church, with 51 years of pastoral leadership; a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II; and held membership in the following: Louisiana Missionary Baptist State Convention; Louisiana Missionary Baptist State Congress where he once served as treasurer; National Baptist Convention, USA, Inc.; National Baptist Congress, USA, Inc.; E.B.R.P. Minister’s Conference where he formerly served 19 years as president; and the Fourth District Missionary Baptist Association. Viewing at Greater Mt. Gideon Baptist Church, Pastor Manley Metoyer, on Friday, July 16, 2021 from 9:00 am until service at 11:00 am, conducted by Rev. Donald Ray Sterling; entombment at Heavenly Gates Mausoleum.
